Women and the Primary Caregiver Issue
Women represent 66% of all caregivers. In most cases this additional roll as ‘Primary Caregiver” is added to the responsibilities associated with her role as mother, wife and full time employee.
The caregivers work, health and relationships with family and friends can all be negatively impacted by the added burden of becoming the primary caregiver for a family member. With the proper planning and help for the caregiver, the care recipient will be able to remain at home, while minimizing the negative effects on the sole caregiver.
